SOLUTION: In a charge-coupled device containing an image-processing section 102 and a read section 104, the image-processing section decides columnal directions and includes plural image processing sub-sections, and the read section includes an output node structure 116 and plural read sub-sections 106. The read sub-section includes plural intermediate registers 110 and horizontal register segments 112, and a layout area is decided between the sub-sections. The output node structure is coupled with the horizontal register segments and laid out in the layout area.
