SOLUTION: This silver-based antimicrobial composition is prepared by making calcium carbonate particles having a particle diameter of 1-50 μm bear silver through impregnating the particles into 0.01-10 mol/dm aqueous solution of silver nitrate to make the silver content in silver-borne calcium carbonate particles be 15-50 wt.%. In addition, combined antimicrobial particles are prepared by compounding the silver-borne calcium carbonate particles with inorganic particles having a particle diameter of 1-50 μm selected from at least one kind of a group composed of calcium phosphate, zirconium phosphate and calcium silicate, to make the silver content in the silver-borne calcium carbonate particles be 10-40 wt.%.
