description | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue broadcasting distributing scheduled background video (BGV) or video in environmental manner, even when reception failure is made due to snowing or raining under the conditions the video/audio program of digital satellite broadcasting is utilized for the BGV or environmental video. SOLUTION: This receiver has a mass storage device (DVD-RAM drive 20) for freely writing and reading digital data at a high speed and a latest data preserving means (microcomputer 1) for writing video and audio encoded data under reception into the storage device, while updating them over a prescribed time period. A reception state distinguishing means 1 is provided for detecting the defective reception state, based on processing signals at demodulation circuit systems 11 and 12. While the defective reception state is detected, the inputs of decoding circuit systems 16 and 19 are switched, and the video and audio encoded data written in the storage device are read out and inputted to decoding circuit systems 16 and 19. |
