Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underlay for drawing a circle of a desired size without using a compass by eliminating a troublesomeness of drawing the circle by the compass. SOLUTION: Many concentric flute grooves 3 guidable at an end of a writing instrument are engraved on a surface of an underly body 2, and linear longitudinal and lateral flutes 4 and 5 perpendicular to one another via a center 3a of the grooves 3 are integrally formed. After a sheet A is placed on the underlay 1, the groove 3 of a desired diameter engraved on the underlay 1 is selected. The instrument 10 is forced to the selected groove from the sheet, and the instrument 10 is guided along the groove 3, thereby drawing a circle on the sheet.
