A part of a welding groove part 7 of the upper end part of the flange part 4a is cladded by welding by the arc welding successively and upwardly from its bottom part, cladding by welding is performed on a side surface 5a side of a steel column 5 along an inclined part of the end tab 1 to weld the steel column 5 to the wide flange steel beam 4. Because the tip of the groove part 7 is slightly inside of the folded part 3b of the recessed groove 3, the gas generated during the welding is emitted from a gap 8 between the lower inclined part of the end tab 1 and the abutting plate 6, and no bubbles are present in the welded part.
