An operation where and axis line of the lance 13 is made agreed with a position for starting measurement, which is required when measurement is started, is easily done by projecting X, Y direction vertical light ray from an X, Y direction laser projection device 22 placed on the floor surface 10 around the molten metal vessel 11 to X, Y direction laser irradiation marks 23, 24, and 24a provided on the outside surfaces of the molten metal vessel 11 and the lance 13, for agreement.
