Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect lactobacillus helveticus and lactobacillus acidophilus with high reliability by using an antibody. SOLUTION: In the subject method, an antibody reacting with protease (oligopeptidase, aminopeptidase, X-prolyl-dipeptidyl aminopeptidase, proteinase, or the like) originating in lactobacillus helveticus SBT 2171 (FERM P-14381), for example, is used as an antibody, and lactic acid bacteria reacting with the antibody are detected. In this case, lactobacillus helveticus and lactobacillus acidophilus can be classified further depending on whether each of them is provided with a sugar assimilating property. The detected lactic acid bacteria can be used as starters and the like.
