description | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take out AC power from a coaxial transmission line which transmits both an RF signal and AC power and, at the same time, protect the coaxial transmission line from overvoltage conditions by installing a coaxial surge arrestor connected serially to a power extraction circuit in a conductive housing so formed as to be serially connected to the coaxial transmission line. SOLUTION: A coaxial surge arrestor and power extractor combined device 600 receives an RF signal and AC power through a coaxial connector 602 and outputs an RF signal through a coaxial connector 604 and AC power through a connector 622. This device has a coaxial surge arrestor 608, constituted of a gas discharge tube in a conductive housing 606. The coaxial arrestor 608 is protected from overvoltage conditions appearing on a coaxial transmission line which transmits an RF signal and AC power. In the conductive housing 606, a circuit, constituted of an inductor 614, a resistor 615, and a capactor 616, separates an RF signal from AC power is installed. |
