description | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printing plate material which enables image recording with low irradiation energy and which has excellent durability and printing resistance and high recording sensitivity even when an ink is deposited on the image and pressed to another medium to transfer the recorded image, by using a grafted carbon black for a light-absorbing material. SOLUTION: In this printing plate material, a grafted carbon black is used as a light-absorbing material in a photosensitive layer. Since the grafted carbon black has good thermal conductivity to the surrounding part, which contributes to improvement in sensitivity. By executing light irradiation according to a specified pattern, the grafted carbon black in the photosensitive layer absorbs energy of the irradiating light and converts into thermal energy. The thermal energy rapidly combusts and pyrolyzes the nitrocellulose near the grafted carbon black. Thereby, the grafted carbon black and the polyurethane elastomer near the irradiated part are sublimated or blown off outside of the layer to form a small hole. Thus, an image is formed along the pattern. |
