description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the accumulation of residual potential when a device is repeatedly used and to prevent a picture from blotting and blurring, by arranging a humidity sensor near the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor and providing the device with a mechanism controlling the current value of an AC component imposed on an electrifying member based on a numerical value obtained from the sensor. SOLUTION: Humidity or temperature and the humidity near the electrophotographic photoreceptor are measured by the humidity sensor 107. The measured data are fetched by a microcomputer 120 of the electrophotographic device main body. When an electrification output is required to be changed by the data, the information of a data table 121 previously written in a ROM is read and a signal outputted to a signal generation circuit 122 is changed. An AC/DC signal generated by the generation circuit 122 is amplified to an high-voltage output by an amplifier 123 an transmitted to the electrifying member 102. Then, when the humidity becomes higher than the numerical value obtained by the sensor 107, the current value is controlled so as to be lowered.
