Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent protrusion of the gasket of an electrolytic cell and nonuniform surface pressure thereof and thereby, to prevent damage of parts and leakage of generated gases. SOLUTION: An annular protective plate 3a of the size to protrude from the outer periphery of a disk-shaped mesh-like porous power feeder 3 of a porous power feeder unit 13 is stuck to the surface on the solid electrolytic membrane side of the porous power feeder 3 along its outer peripheral edge. The annular gasket 14 delineating an anode chamber and cathode chamber, respectively, is fitted to the outer peripheral side of the porous power feeder 3. The part where the gasket overlaps on the protective plate 3a is joined to the protective plate 3a, by which the surface on the solid electrolytic membrane side of the gasket 14 and the surface on the solid electrolytic membrane side of the protective plate 3a are made substantially flush with each other.
