description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight, to eliminate warpage at the time of formation and to enable recording and reproducing at a high density and high speed by forming an optical pickup body and an optical bench by using a resin compsn. compounded with a thermoplastic polyimide resin having a specific viscosity and carbon fibers having a specific aspect ratio. SOLUTION: The resin compsn. which suppress the deformation by heat generation at the time of sliding and is enhanced in strength is formed by compounding 20 to 50 pts.wt., more preferably 20 to 30 pts.wt. carbon fibers having the aspect ratio of 5 to 25 with 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic polyimide resin having an easy flow property, a viscosity of ηinh=0.35 to 0.43dL/g and a glass transition temp. of >=230 deg.C. Either one of the pickup body 2 or the optical bench 3 of both are molded by using this resin compsn. While either one of the pickup body 2 or the optical bench 3 may be formed of metals, such as aluminum, both are preferably molded of the resin compsn. from the viewpoint of the reduction in weight and the ease of production stages.
