description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an appropriate cleaning function for the sliding surface of a rotary magnetic head, which conducts a recording and a reproducing through a contact sliding with a magnetic tape, by using the head cleaning roller that is formed by integrating plural number of thin films or sheet shaped materials. SOLUTION: A head cleaning roller 12a is formed by the laminated roller on which plural thin films or sheet shaped materials 13 are integrated. The thin films or the materials 13 are selected from at least one of the materials including cotton cloth, polyester cloth and paper, for example. The thin films or the materials 13 are made by superimposing or integrating approximately fifty sheets each having an approximately 0.1mm thickness. They are fitted into a supporting shaft 15, which has a fastening washer 14 and pressed by a pressing washer 16. Then, a nut 17 is screwed into a head section 15a made by the thread grooves on the shaft 15 or the tip part of the shaft is calked into a rivet shape in order to form the roller 12a. Thus, the occurrence of a dropout and a head clog is prevented and high quality is maintained for the reproduced picture.
