Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove only the photosensitive layer near the bottom end in the direction where a photoreceptor is immersed into a coating liquid from the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: A processing liquid 5 is injected into a storage tank 4 to the extent that a belt 3 is immersed down to a position about 1mm below the top end thereof. The top end of the photoreceptor 2 coated with the coating liquid for a photosensitive layer by a dip coating method is held by a holding member 1. The photoreceptor 2 is positioned above the storage tank 4 by moving the holding member 1. The holding member 1 is thereafter moved perpendicularly downward and the prescribed range at the bottom end of the photoreceptor 2 is immersed into the processing liquid 5 stored in the storage tank 4. Further, the holding member 1 is horizontally moved to bring the peripheral surface at the bottom end of the photoreceptor 2 into pressurized contact with the belt 3.
