ALKALINE DRY CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline dry cell which does not cause an internal short-circuit due to overflow of the gel negative pole into the positive pole mixture side. SOLUTION: A sealed alkaline dry cell is formed by filling a cylinder-type metal can with a positive pole generating element 8 and a negative pole generating element 7 through a separator 9, and by fixing an insulating gasket 4 to a collector rod 3 placed at the center of the negative pole generating element 7. A part of the insulating gasket 4 is extended in its negative pole generating element direction to contact the upper side of internal wall of the separator 9 so that the sealing is more assured to avoide the overflow of the gel negative pole into the positive pole mixture side. The extended part of the insulating gasket 4 can be tapered, or an adhesive can be applied to improve sealing.
