Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently immobilize carbon dioxide by using a tertiary butyl- substituted metalo-phthalocyanine complex having a high solubility as a catalyst in a method for immobilize carbon dioxide by reacting carbon dioxide with an olefin oxide. SOLUTION: In a method for immobilize carbon dioxide by mutual reaction of carbon dioxide and an olefin and successively converting the carbon dioxide into alkylene carbonate, a tertiary butyl-substituted mono- or di-metalo- phthalocyanine complex with high solubility is used as a catalyst. As the olefin oxide, propylene oxide, ethylene oxide, or epichlorohydrin may be selected. The reaction is carried out from 100 deg.C to 250 deg.C and yield can be observed at about 180"C. The reaction can be observed in the atmospheric pressure and the optimum condition is obtained at 50 atmospheric pressure or higher. The necessary pressure can be obtained by injecting a prescribed amount of carbon dioxide.
