Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject colorless new compound for toner for electron charge controlling agents and electrostatic charge latent development, comprising a specific biphenyl phosphate compound and hardly causing change in characteristics due to temperature or humidity change. SOLUTION: This new biphenyl phosphate metal salt compound is represented by formula I [M is a metal atom; (m) is 0-3; (n ) is a valence of M ; R is H or a 1-4C alkyl], formula II [M is a metal atom of the group IIa, III or IV of the periodic table; (n ) is 1-3; (p) is 1-3, with the proviso that sum of (n ) and (p) equals to valence of M ] or formula III (M is a metal atom of the group IV of the periodic table) and useful as a charge controlling agent, etc., for controlling negative electron charge amount used for developing electrostatic charge latent image in electrophotography, electrostatic recording, electrostatic printing, etc. The compound is obtained by reacting 2,2'-bis(3-alkyl-4,6-di- tert-butylphenol) with phosphorus oxychloride and reacting the resultant product with a metal hydroxide or a metal compound represented by the formula M Yn [Y is a halogen; (n) is a valence of M ], formula IV, etc. |
