SOLUTION: A column 3 supported movably along rails 2a extended on the upper face of a base 2 is longitudinally moved by a moving motor provided at the base 2. The front face of the column 3 is equipped with a wheel head 5 movably in a vertical direction, and a grinding wheel 10 is fixed in an integrally rotatable state to the tip of a motor driving shaft stored in the wheel head 5. Rails 11 are provided on the base 2 so as to be extended laterally in front of the column 3, and a table 12 equipped with a workpiece fixing device 15 is reciprocated on the rails 11 by the actuation of a hydraulic cylinder 13. At the time of machining the side face of a workpiece, the table 12 is moved at lower speed than the speed at the time of machining the upper face, and the cutting depth quantity is set to the same quantity as that at the time of machining the upper face of the workpiece.
