BATTERY HAVING PLURAL FLAT HIGH TEMPERATURE FUEL CELLS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery having an interconnector which is formed of inexpensive material. SOLUTION: This battery has a structure in which plural electrochemically active elements 2 and plural interconnectors 1 are provided alternately in the laminating form, the interconnectors 1 are formed as an air-heat converter, and a base substance 3 to separate the air side and the gas side, and the thermal expansion decided mainly by the base substance 3, are provided. Structure layers 4 and 5 to carry out the electricity transmission and the thermal transfer are provided on both sides of the base substance 3, and the air flows along one side layer 4, while the combustion gas flows along the other side layer 5. The thermal expansions of the elements 2 and the base substance 3 are almost equal. The base substance 3 is formed as an air-heat converter, and it consists of a material to form the parmanent oxide layer on its own surface under the operating condition of the battery accompanying the existence of oxygen. The layer 4 is combined at the air side of the base substance 3, and this combination protects the base substance 3 from the forming of oxide at the contact 43 between the layer 4 and the base substance 3.
