Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steel cord excellent in cord breaking resistance when large bending is inputted without precedingly early breaking a part of filaments in the cord and without deteriorating the durability thereof and to provide a radial tire for heavy loads improved in durability of the carcass ply by applica tion thereof to the carcass ply. SOLUTION: This steel cord for reinforcing a rubber article is obtained by making a forming ratio FC of steel filaments constituting a core composed of three steel filaments of the same wire diameter and a forming ratio FS of steel filaments constituting a sheath composed of seven to ten steel filaments of the same wire diameter arranged around the core in the same direction respectively satisfy the following formulae: 115%
