description | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten display density and to reduce deterioration in lifetime of a display surface, by narrowing the gap between the display surfaces. SOLUTION: A wiring layer 4 having a predetermined pattern shape is formed on the inside of a positive electrode base board 2 constituting a part of an envelope 1. On the positive electrode base board 2 forming the wiring layer 4, stepwise insulation layers 5 (5A, 5B, 5C) of different thicknesses are formed to have through holes 7 (7A, 7B, 7C) facing the wiring layer 4 in such a manner as to respectively correspond to several display surfaces 10 (10A, 10B, 10C) constituting one display element. While making the wiring layer 4 conductive, conductor layers 8 (8A, 8B, 8C) are formed on the surfaces of the insulation layers 5 respectively, and phosphor layers 9 (9A, 9B, 9C) of different luminescent colors are formed on the surfaces of the conductor layers 8 respectively. The phosphor layer 9A made of a sulfide-based phosphor is provided on the conductor layer 8A at the lowest position relative to the inside of the positive electrode base board 2. |
