AMINOMETHYLNAPHTHALENECARBOXYLIC ACID DYE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dye suitable for dyeing a cellulosic material, especially paper. SOLUTION: This dye is represented by formula I A and K are each independently phenyl or naphthyl; R is H, an unsubstituted acyl, etc.; X is a 1-3C alkyl; the carboxyl in the formula is bonded to the 6-...

description | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dye suitable for dyeing a cellulosic material, especially paper. SOLUTION: This dye is represented by formula I A and K are each independently phenyl or naphthyl; R is H, an unsubstituted acyl, etc.; X is a 1-3C alkyl; the carboxyl in the formula is bonded to the 6- or the 7-position; (m) and (n) are each 0 or 1, with the proviso that (n) is 1 when (m) is 0; (v) is 0 or 1 on the assumption that [(v)×(m)] is >=1}. A method for converting an amine represented by the formula, A-NH2 into a diazonium compound according to a well-known method, coupling the resultant compound with a compound represented by formula II by a well-known method, as necessary, then acylating the prepared compound or carrying out the condensation reaction with a substituted 1,3,5-triazine or pyrimidine, etc., is cited as a method for obtaining the dye in which (m) is 0 and (v) is 1 therein. Thereby, lightfast dyeing and printing can be prepared in a cellulosic material, especially paper, cotton or regenerated cellulosic fiber according to a usually used dyeing method. |
