METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COLLECTING SUSPENDED MATTER ON QUAYWALL WITH SLIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve suspended matter collection efficiency by jetting fluid toward a quaywall to produce water stream, discharging suspended matter staying between column groups out of the column groups by counter water stream produced by colliding against the quaywall and collecting it. SOLUTION: A floating body 7 is disposed at the sea side of a quaywall 1 with a slit, i.e., at the outside of one side 4b of a column group 4 corresponding to a quaywall 6, fluid L is jetted from a jetting nozzle 8 provided below the draft line of the floating body 7 in a direction slightly inclined upward by an angle of θ from the horizontal direction to produce upward water stream f1 . Next, the water stream f1 collides against the quaywall 6, becomes counter water stream f2 on the neighborhood of a water surface and the water stream f2 flows out to the side of the sea surface of the column group 4. Next, suspended matter (m) staying between the column group 4 floating on the counter water stream f2 is discharged on the sea surface, and discharged suspended matter (m') is collected e.g. by a garbage collection ship. Thereby the water stream f1 collides against the quaywall 6 to produce the counter water stream f2 , the suspended matter (m) is discharged and collected, and suspended matter collection efficiency can be improved.
