description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to decide the timing of a repeat musical performance by cyclically reading musical performance data on a repeat part in a series of musical performance data and generating a count sound corresponding to beats prior to each read. SOLUTION: The panel of this automatic playing device is provided with an operator part 15 and a display device 16, which displays a measure number and meter. Further, the start point and end point of a desired repeat musical performance part are set with a marker switch of the operator part 15, and this repeat musical performance part is repeatedly played with a repeat switch. A CPU 13, on the other hand, controls the whole device according to a control program in a ROM 11 by using a RAM 12 as a work area. Then musical performance data on a set repeat musical performance part are read out of a series of musical performance data cyclically in order and the count sound corresponding to the meter is generated prior to each read. Consequently, there is no deviation in the timing of a musical performance even in the case of an intensive practice in playing a weak part.
