Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal fired burner in which slagging due to ash in coal can be prevented, ignition and burning can be stabilized, and NOx can be decreased. SOLUTION: An oil burner 5 is centrally disposed and a protection cylinder 7, coal nozzle 10, secondary air nozzle 20, and tertiary air nozzle 40 are disposed around the burner 5, in that order, and the forward end of the cylinder 1 is tapered off toward the interior of a furnace. A coal feed pipe 11 for introducing coal and primary air is tangentially connected to the proximal end of the nozzle 10 and a swirling preventing plate 13 is provided in a central inner wall, and the forward end of the plate 13 is tapered off toward the interior of the furnace. Secondary air is blown off straightly into the furnace from the nozzle 20. And tertiary air is blown off from the nozzle 40 into the furnace so as to be swirled.
