description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily, inexpensively and continuously execute a dehydration treatment by forming flocks which are large, secure and not sticky and are good in sepn. of solid from liquid in a flocculation treatment of pollutants. SOLUTION: The polluted water and mud water (raw water 1) are introduced into a thickening tank 3 and a thickening agent (a mixture composed of calcium chloride and org. high polymer flocculating agent) is added thereto under stirring to allow the pollutant to rapidly settle. The settled and concd. slurry is withdraw from the bottom of the tank and is received in a mud storage tank 10. This slurry is fed inline together with the flocculating agent to an FY gel flocculating unit 16 where the original forms of the flocks 5 are formed; thereafter, the flocs are sent to a hopper 17 with an agitating machine. The thickening agent is again added to the flocks 5 to improve the flocks and thereafter the floes are subjected to the sepn. of the solid from the liquid by a dehydrating machine 18 (vacuum suction type conveyor).
