When a region of interest for Doppler images to be produced on a tomogram displayed on the image display 4 is set, a tomogram generation sequence part 6 and a Doppler image occurrence sequence part 7 inside the DSC part 3 are switched with each other by the operation detection signal S from the detection part 11 for the operation of the outer input device. Therefore, it becomes easier to set the region of interest for Doppler images to be produced on a tomogram displayed on the image display 4, and the decline of the PRF of ultrasonic beams can be prevented.
