BUILTUP DECORATIVE COLUMN AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD FOR FITTING DECORATIVE COVER MEMBER TO CORE COLUMN IN THE BUILTUP DECORATIVE COLUMN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely fix a decorative cover member to a core column by a screw nail without breaking the decorative cover member at the time of assembling and constructing a decorative column at a construction site, and to decrease the number of divided decorative cover members so as to improve the assembling and constructing efficiency. SOLUTION: In a construction method for fitting a decorative cover member to a core column, a pair of half-split decorative cover members 6, 6 are fitted to a core column 3 fixed in an erect state to a construction object in such a manner as to cover the core column 3 from the opposite side. Both end parts of the decorative cover members 6, 6 are provided with fitting grooves 32. Fitting members 8, 8 are temporarily fastened along the longitudinal center line of the core column 3. Blade pieces 17, 17 which form both side parts of the fitting member 8 are fitted to the fitting grooves 32, 32 of both decorative cover members 6, 6 that are opposite to each other. After that, a screw nail 9 is dead locked to fix both decorative cover members 6, 6 to the core column 3.
