description PURPOSE: To obtain a switching apparatus of feeding system for optical cable in which a high voltage hot-line can be switched accurately in safety in a short time through simple automatic operation requiring no manual operation. CONSTITUTION: When an output condition decision block B1 makes a decision that the differential voltage and current between respective output voltages and currents come within allowable ranges and detects a switching operation between power supply units 1A and 1B, a switching control block B3 temporarily turns all relay switches 181-184 ON to connect the power supply units 1A, 1B in parallel. Subsequently, the relay switch for a line to be connected is turned OFF and respective relay switches 181-184 are turned ON/OFF under a state where the potential across each relay switch is equalized thus eliminating discharge at the contact.
