description | PURPOSE: To prevent the trouble, such as the impossibility of drawing-out without becoming extremely large of the sum total of torques of driving rolls at the time of restarting the drawing-out of a slab by reducing the reduction rate in the time of stopping the drawing-out according as the casting speed in the continuous casting of a steel is higher. CONSTITUTION: In the continuous casting method of the steel, molten steel 11 is poured into a tundish 12 from a ladle and further, the molten steel 11 in the tundish 12 is poured into a mold 16. The molten steel 11 is cooled wit the inner surface of the mold 16 to form shell 31, and the shell 31 is drawn out by interposing with plural driving rolls 18. At the time of completing the casting, the casting speed is reduced at the fixed reduction rate from starting of the reduction to stopping of the casting, but at this time, the higher the casting speed before starting the reduction is, the smaller the reduction rate is. The comparatively thin shell formed with the high speed casting speed is made to be so sufficient thickness having the fixed value or more so as not to develop bulging at the time of stopping the continuous casting to complete the continuous casting, and the sum total of the driving torques in the speed up time at the time of restarting the continuous casting is controlled within the fixed value. |
