HOLLOW NEEDLE FOR TUFTING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To obtain a hollow needle for a tufting device having the tip part to be hardly worn, lightening labor for abrasion of needle tip and needle change by setting a wear-resistant chip at the tip and opening a twisted yarn insertion hole in the direction of a needle shaft at an inclined plane formed at the tip of the chip. CONSTITUTION: A wear-resistant chip 3 made of a sintered hard alloy is made at the tip of a hollow needle 1 provided with a twisted yarn insertion hole 5 in the axial direction. An inclined plane 4 is formed at the tip of the chip, the twisted yarn insertion hole is opened at the inclined plane and a groove 6 communicating with the twisted yarn insertion hole is formed. Wear at the tip of the hollow needle caused by sliding of the inclined plate on a blade plate and repetition of removal and sticking of the needle into a substrate is suppressed.
