Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide a shape correcting device for a metallic strip capable of preventing the formation of a spacing between a roll and a strip and adequately assuring the winding state of the strip on the roll, thereby realizing uniform heating, soaking or cooling. CONSTITUTION: This shape correcting device is provided with the suction roll 2 which is formed with hollow parts 2a on the inner side of a circumferential body and is formed with plural suction holes 2b for communicating these hollow parts 2a with the outside surface of the circumferential body and a suction device 6 which communicates with the hollow parts 2a of the suction roll 2. The device consists of a sealing belt 12 which consists of a metallic material, such as stainless steel, is so formed as to attain W>50xt in a sealing width W with respect to the thickness (t) of the strip S to be passed and to attain A>2xW in the width A with respect to the sealing width W and is disposed to supporting shafts 11A to 11C installed in parallel with the suction roll 2.
