PANTOGRAPH SUPPORT INSULATOR AND PANTOGRAPH DEVICE USING THE INSULATOR

PURPOSE: To suppress the production of aerodynamic noise by forming a pantograph support insulator in such a way that the insulator is made longer in the longitudinal direction of a car body and has a streamlined cross section and ribs put one upon another in multiple stages in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION: A pantograph support insulator 5 is made longer in the longitudinal direction of a car body 1 and has a streamlined cross section and ribs 31 put one upon another in multiple stages in the vertical direction so as to increase the surface insulating distance. A pair of pantograph support insulators supports a pantograph 2 and windshield cover body 7 at a required insulating distance S on the roof of the car body 1. In addition, the front and rear end sections of the insulators 5 are fixed to the roof of the car body 1 through seat bodies 3. Therefore, each insulator 5 can obtain a large contact area over the whole area of a supporting area S1 before and after the pantograph 2 and can firmly support the pantograph 2 in such a state that the insulator 5 can easily suppress the vibration of the pantograph 2. In addition, the insulator 5 can suppress the production of aerodynamic noise.
