SHEET CARRYING DEVICE FOR IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To perform various sheet carriages with a compact structure by providing a switchback pass for switchback-carrying a discharged sheet and guiding it to the inlet side of a carrying pass in a limited space between a street pressing means and a sheet placing means. CONSTITUTION: A sheet placed on a sheet placing means 22 is sent to a carrying means 50 having a carrying pass 53 for guiding the sheet one toward the direction of a sheet pressing means 80. Thereafter, the sheet is discharged from a discharge port opened toward the back surface of the sheet pressing means 80 by a discharging means 72. On the other hand, a switchback pass 71 is arranged between the sheet pressing means 80 and the sheet placing means 22, and the sheet is switchback-carried in the course of discharge, and send again to the carrying pass. Since the back surface of the sheet pressing means forms apart of the switchback pass, the structure is downsized and simplified. As occasion demands, the sheet is switchback-carried by a switchback roller pair 72, and sent again to the carrying pass.
