MECHANICAL TYPE PARKING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To shorten the time required for putting vehicles into or out of a mechanical type parking apparatus having parking rooms in each of which a plurality of the vehicles are arranged side by side at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle-transporting traveling truck 5 and a vehicle-siding traveling track 5' are arranged on each traveling way 4, and a plurality of parking rooms 7 are provided parallel with the traveling way 4. Both a front wheel-transversely transporting conveyor 14 and a rear wheel-transversely transporting conveyor 15 are placed side by side on each of the traveling trucks 5, 5' and on each of the parking rooms 7. The depth of the parking room 7 and the length of transporting conveyors 14, 15 for the parking room 7 are set so that a plurality of vehicles 9 can be placed at the same time. The traveling trucks 5, 5' can freely travel independent of each other, and when put into the parking rooms 7, two of the vehicles 9 each are transported to the parking rooms T by two traveling trucks 5, 5'. When one of the vehicles 9 which is placed at the rear side of the parking room 7 is put out of the parking room 7, the other which is placed at the side of the traveling way 4 is shifted to the vehicle-siding traveling truck 5', and the one is placed on the vehicle- transporting traveling truck 5.
