The output signal, which has been under OFF state, of the sensor 1 becomes ON by the arrival of the shading part 2a at the detecting part 1d of the sensor 1 and once OFF by the arrival of a notched part 2b at the detecting part 1d and ON again by the arrival of a shading part 2c at the detecting part 1d and, after that, the resultant ON state is maintained. In this case, the point of time, when the output signal of the sensor 1 is changed-over from OFF in the second time to ON, is detected as the point of time, when a carrier 4 returns to its home position 4a.
