description PURPOSE:To prevent engine speed from being mis-calculated due to external noise by providing a judgement block and detecting only an edge inputted into the judgement block as NE signal in a method for detecting the edge, when inputted, as engine speed (NE) signal. CONSTITUTION:When a fall edge is inputted and NE interruption occurs, the fall edge is judged to be external noise and not detected while a gate signal is turned on. When the gate signal is turned off, the fall edge is judged to be the fall edge of the NE signal, and the judgement time (judgement block) according to the engine speed is calculated based on a map. Next, when the fall edge is the edge inputted from a time at which the gate signal is turned off within the judgement time, a preceding time at which interruption occurred is deducted from this interruption occurrence time so as to calculate the latest frequency of the engine speed signal.
