Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To provide a testing method for a separating tool and a gauge to confirm its correct behavior prior to their use. CONSTITUTION: A gauge 100 for the separating tool simulates an actually conceivable working condition expected for a separating tool 110. The gauge 100 comprises a cylindrical guiding portion 101, receiving a magnet housing 24a in a freely sliding manner. The guiding portion 101 is supported, so as to be symmetrical with a probe 118 for the separating tool 110 in use for inspection. The magnet housing 24a is disposed in the cylindrical guiding portion 101 and thereafter, moved toward the bottom. When a magnet 67 approaches a switch in the tool probe 118, an indicating lamp is lit. If the indicating lamp is lit, a surface of the magnet housing 24a is present in a range band 109 outside the guiding portion 101, and the separating tool 110 is judged to be acting in a correct manner.
