RIGID JOINING STRUCTURE BETWEEN SQUARE STEEL PIPE COLUMNS

PURPOSE:To perform simple and firm rigid interjoining of upper and lower square steel pipe columns. CONSTITUTION:Stiffening plates 2 and 3 are arranged on the obverse and the reverse of a joint between upper and lower square steel pipe columns 1A and 1B and fixed to the square steel pipe columns 1A and 1B by a one-side bolt 4. The one side bolt 4 is formed in such a manner that a pin 12 is covered with a first sleeve 13, a second sleeve 15, a grip adjuster 17, a washer 18, and a collar 19. The pin 12 has an uneven peripheral surface part 12c, a rupture groove 12b, and a pin head part 12a. The second sleeve 15 is formed in a tapered shape in which the outside diameter surface of one end part is inserted in the first sleeve 13 to forcibly spread the first sleeve 13. A grip adjuster 17 is broken by a given load in an axial direction. The collar 19 has a bore surface which is plastically deformed in a state to cut through an uneven peripheral surface part 12c of the pin 12 through reduction of the outside diameter.
