CONSTITUTION: A cooling water supply passage 16 is provided in a lower wall part 18, 19 of each cylinder bank 1, 2, and a calibrated first connecting part 20 having a designated cross section area is connected to a cooling water jacket 10, and connected to a cooling water passage 11 through a second connecting part 21. On the other hand, a discharge passage 30 is provided in parallel to the longitudinal axis A in an upper wall portion 28, 29 of each cylinder bank 1, 2, thereby connecting the cooling water jacket 10 of a cylinder head 7 to the cooling water passage 11. Thus, the cooling water flow is concentratively guided in a case porton of the internal combustion engine and simultaneously cooling is achieved.
