description PURPOSE:To obtain a light irradiation direction detecting equipment which stably detects light irradiation direction with high precision. CONSTITUTION:In a light position detecting element 5 which detects the irradiation position of a light entered from a pin hole, a first resistor film 7 and a second resistor film 8 are formed on both sides of a photoelectric conversion film 6. When the x-axis direction of irradiation position of a light receiving surface is detected, a potential difference of 5V is generated between first electrodes 9 on both sides of the first resistor film 7 with a swithing circuit 12, and an output voltage led out from second electrodes 10 of the second resistor film 8 is delivered to a detection circuit 13. When the y-axis direction of irradiation position is detected, a potential difference of 5V is generated between second electrodes 10 on both sides of the second resistor film 8 with the switching circuit 12, and an output voltage led out from the first electrodes 9 of the first resistor film 7 is delivered to the detection circuit 13. Since the detection circuit 13 detects the irradiation direction, from the output voltage, according to the irradiation position, the irradiation direction of light can be stably detected with high precision.
