description PURPOSE:To execute desulfurization and desiliconization to molten iron in good reaction efficiency by supplying the molten iron into a continuous reaction furnace and blowing desulfurizing agent and desiliconizing agent together with carrier gas against stream of the molten iron. CONSTITUTION:The molten iron melted with a low-frequency induction electric furnace 2 is flowed down into the molten iron M in a molten iron basin from an upper flowing inlet 8 in the cylindrical continuous reaction furnace 1 through a tundish 3. In this case, a lance 5 made of refractory of alumina, etc., is inserted into the molten metal M, and CaC2 powder as the desulfurizing agent or mixed powder of CaO and scale (iron oxide) as the desiliconizing agent is injected from an injecting hole at the tip part arranged at the position facing to the molten iron flowing inlet 8 by using N2 gas as the carrier gas. Against the stream of the molten iron flowed down in the reaction furnace 1, the desulfurizing agent or the desiliconizing agent is ascended and reacted with the molten iron to execute the desulfurizing or the desiliconizing treatment. The desulfurizing-or the desiliconizing-treated molten iron is received into molten iron receiving vessel 4 from a flowing-out hole 9 arranged near the bottom part of the reaction furnace 1.
