CONTACT TYPE THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To easily control the medium contact face of an electromagnetic transducer part, which is supported by a flexible supporting body, to the satisfactory contact slide state to the surface of a recording medium with an optimum pressing force. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic transducer part 1 provided with a magnetic flux return yoke, a main magnetic pole 1e, and a coil 1d and a flexible supporting body 2 like a narrow and long plane plate where a signal lead pattern 2b to lead out a signal from the electromagnetic transducer part 1 is buried and which supports this part 1 are joined into one body like L. This contact type thin film magnetic head is provided with a resistive strain meter 11 which detects the degree of flexure of the flexible supporting body 2 for press and contact of the electromagnetic transducer part 1 to the surface of the recording medium as the change of the electric resistance value to detect the press and contact state of the electromagnetic transducer part 1 to the surface of the recording medium.
