description PURPOSE:To set, with high accuracy, disposal pitches, inclinations, and sizes of luminous dots, by operating the luminous dots in a time-division system so that dot-conditional light can be radiated, without spacing, to a straight line on a surface of a record medium which is disposed at a right angle in a record medium moving direction. CONSTITUTION:A positioning slit part 25 on an outer surface of a substrate 26 i provided with slits 36, which are formed in parallel to each other and inclined to a longitudinal direction of an anode conductor 27 and disposed respectively in accordance with slits 32 in control electrodes 31. Luminous parts on a phosphor layer 28, which are divided/set by said slits 32 and disposed inclinedly to the longitudinal direction of the anode conductor 27, are divided by these slits 36 to form exact-sized luminous dots 33. That is, the luminous dots 33 aee operated with their timing shifted little by little so that their light is radiated to a straight line on a surface of a record medium which is disposed at a right angle in a record medium moving direction where the dot-conditional light is not displayed. Therefore, the light becomes continuous without spacing, capable of forming rectilinear latent images.
