CHUCK DEVICE

PURPOSE:To automatically assemble work in parallel in a thickness direction to sharply improve work efficiency by providing a pusher movable in a vertical direction between fixed and movable claws, and pushing work downward. CONSTITUTION:The reonators 2-5 of an element supply part are chucked one by one to be carried to an assembly jig. In this case, both the main surfaces and both the side edges of the resonators 2-5 are retained by a fixed claw 35 and movable claws 45 and 48 to remedy their attitudes to be also positioned. The resonators 2-5 are inserted between terminals from a lateral direction along the upper surf ace of a base, and at a stage when inserted in a position corresponding to a recessed part, are pushed downward by a pusher 52a. At that time, since the first movable claw 45 is opened interlocking with the pushing action of the pusher 52a, both the side surfaces (electrode surfaces) of the resonators 2-5 are not slidely contacted with the fixed claw 35 and the first movable claw 45, eliminating possibility to damage the electrode surfaces of the resonators 2-5.
