description PURPOSE:To provide a membrane having high electric conductivity by which an output characteristic of a fuel cell can be heightened in the film for a proton exchange membrane type fuel cell formed by using a perfluorocation exchange membrane. CONSTITUTION:In the case of manufacturing a joined body of an electrode and a membrane for a proton exchange membrane type fuel cell formed by using a fluorine type cation exchange membrane, an exchange group is introduced in a sheet containing a precursory body of an ion exchange group while using a hydrogen ion as a pair ion of the exchange group. Afterwards, it is soaked into one or two or more kinds of solvents selected from an alcohol class, a glycol class and an amine class or mixed solvent of these solvents and water, and swelling processing is carried out at a temperature of 120 deg.C to 220 deg.C, and the water content is set in 40% to 300%. Next, an ion exchange membrane and a gas diffusing electrode are joined together by hot press in saturated stream or in the water, and a joined body of the ion exchange membrane and the electrode can be manufactured.
