PURPOSE:To effectively crystallize and to efficiently cool by holding preform of a state that its neck is exposed by a retaining member at the bottom of a cylinder, feeding air to the vent hole of the bottom after a heating step, engaging a core formed with a cooling liquid guide passage therein with the neck of the preform, and cooling it. CONSTITUTION:Preform W exposed at its neck is held by a retaining member 212 at the inner bottom of a holder 210. In this case, a gap S is formed between the collar W2 and the upper edge of the cylinder 211 of the holder 210. Thus, the upper edge of the cylinder 211 is not fusion-bonded to the lower part of the collar W2, or heat is not escaped. The preform W held by the holder 210 and fed to a heater is heated at its neck, and then fed to a cooling turret. Then, it is naturally cooled, a core 533 is engaged with the neck of the preform W, cooling liquid is fed to a guide passage 534 to cool the neck. Simultaneously, air is fed to the vent hole 214 of the holder 210 to cool the bottom of the pre form. Thus, its crystallization is assured.
