CAPSULE PREPARATION CONTAINING CARBOCYSTEINE

PURPOSE:To improve the dissolution of orally administered carbocysteine preparation into digestive juice. CONSTITUTION:The objective pharmaceutical preparation is produced by encapsulating a composition composed of carbocysteine having action to regulate the mucosa of respiratory tract and normalize the mucous membrane in combination with an oily base (e.g. edible oil) and an aqueous base (e.g. a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 1-20). The (edible oil : surfactant) weight ratio is (50-99):(50-1), especially (70-95):(30-5). Carbocysteine is dispersed or dissolved in a surfactant, an edible oil is uniformly mixed to the dispersion, etc., to obtain the content to be encapsulated and the mixture is filled in a capsule case by conventional process to obtain a hard or soft capsule preparation.
