DEVICE FOR MONITORING OBJECT ON ROAD

PURPOSE:To provide a monitoring device for an object on road capable of surely detecting both of a mobile object and a still object and tracking the detected mobile object. CONSTITUTION:A road side camera 10 such as a TV camera or a CCD camera arranged on the read side takes pictures at a prescribed time interval and supplies the photographed contents to a background difference part 12 and a continuous difference part 14. The difference part 12 includes a difference circuit and a binarizing circuit and previously stores a reference picture (background picture). The difference part 14 includes a difference circuit, a memory for storing pictures inputted from the camera 10 and a binarizing circuit. Outputs from the difference parts 12, 14 are supplied to an object detecting part 16 including an AND operation circuit and an exclusive OR operation circuit and moving and still objects are detected by logical operation. The information of the detected mobile object is supplied to an object tracking part 18, which calculates the speed of the mobile object and estimates its forecasted position.
