CONSTITUTION:Molten steel having a compsn. constituted of, by weight, 0.04 to 0.20% C, 0.05 to 0.50% Si and 0.50 to 1.80% Mn, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is subjected to continuous casting. Next, it is heated to the temp range of 1200 to 1300 deg.C and is subjected to rough rolling to form into an wide-flange shape rough steel slab. Then, it is air-cooled for 5 to 10min, is thereafter subjected to intermediate rolling and finish rolling and is cooled to 800 to 500 deg.C at 0.1 to 30 deg.C/min cooling rate. In this way, the wide-flange shape steel having excellent toughness even in the fillet part can be produced.
